USCIS has our I-600!

I just checked my email before going to bed and we had received an email from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services in Ho Chi Minh City. It's their standard form letter letting us know they have received our I-600 form, petition to classify orphan as an immediate relative. This is the paperwork that must be processed to obtain Sarah's visa to come into the U.S., and must be approved before we can travel to pick her up. USCIS states most determinations will be completed in 60 working days. We're obviously hoping it doesn't take that long.

It's always good to receive more photos of Sarah. Makes the wait a little easier.

Sarah's room is coming along.

While we still have some finishing touches to add to Sarah's room, mostly items we want to put on the walls, it's far enough along to post some photos.

Three guesses...

I'll give you three guesses as to who wrote the online "Local yokel" responses to our recent letter to the editor. You know it wasn't an impartial, third party. No ordinary citizen loves the government that much and gets so personal and passionate about defending government officials. And whoever it was, they didn't even have the "balls" to sign it. Pretty pathetic. Pay attention to the first line of the person's response. Unless it's someone involved in the situation, or very close to them, how did this person know the form was unfamiliar to them? Having concern about something doesn't indicate unfamiliarity. This is obviously a coward who ignores any facts presented and just wants to make personal attacks.

5/28/08 Another hint. In today's response, Local yokel states, "First, I am NOT a local, state, or national elected or appointed official." It just so happens that the director and lawyer are both appointed positions, not elected. Once again, unless this is someone directly involved or close to them, why did they make a point of indicating they are not an "appointed" official? Your average, everyday citizen out there isn't going to even think about the difference or that these two men are appointed, so they wouldn't have included "appointed" in their response.
